[WHO]
Gabriele Zagaglia, 1997, based in Passatempo (Osimo, AN). I’ve studied at Isia Urbino and did an Erasmus at ERG in Bxl. Ex-intern at art organisation Cripta 747 and graphic design studio CH RO MO, now I’m finishing my bachelor thesis. I like doing books but I have a bad relationship with computers, they make me feel anxious. When my Indesign will crash I’ll be no longer able to install it again..so I’ll stop pretending to be a graphic designer and finally become a dancer! In the meanwhile I do useless sculptures.

Palazzone verso il Palais de Justice/ ONCE UPON A TIME IN BXL _11, 3 X 20, 2 cm _pag: 280 _Typography: Founders Grotes Text by Klime T.F./ Bonhomme by Nathan Laurent Once upon a time in Bxl represents my five Erasmus months spent in Bruxelles. Landed home on February 9 2019 I was already nostalgic, and before falling asleep, while watching my phone’s gallery, I was even sadder. In order to always have with me those incredible souvenirs I decided to materialise them in a book. All the pictures in the little publication were taken by me with my phone camera. I’ve organised them chronologically: form the very first one to the Rafaello Sanzio airport until the last one in a Rayanair flight from Charleroi to Ancona. In each page there are the date and time the photos were taken and on the cover tiny descriptions tell what the pictures are about. The book is about gabber subculture born during the 90’s in Rotterdam. The publication is divided into three chapter. In the first one we collected texts about the origins of the movement, the hakken dance, style, children and gabber and the Thunderdome festival. The second one is a list of the main European hardcore label during 90’s and 00’s. The third and last section is about gabber today: collective and personalities who are trying to revitalise this culture, fashion designer inspired by gabber style for their collections and photographers and artists working with this subculture and history.
